Welcome to me! (Updated with pics)

Hello, everyone. I have been reading this site for a few weeks, and on Tuesday night I bought a 2002 Boxster S. It is Arctic Silver with a black top and interior. So far I am very happy. I wanted to say hello to all of you, now that I am a fellow owner.

welcome!! pictures please???

Perfectlap 04-28-2005 07:33 AM

wait a minute the Boxster doesn't rev to 9,000....are you an S2000 former owner?

Try S100 Wax on Silver paint, looks great. 1z cockpit premium for your interior.
The Klasse treatment before the wax is the popular choice.

I think we need a permanent gallery on this site of the members Boxters.

Welcome aboard. I just sold a car like yours last month. Nice color combo and the S is just a great car. Enjoy and welcome aboard.

I'm new too

Hi, I'm new to the forum too, it seemed appropriate to just add to this thread instead of start another one (hope you don't mind 9000RPMan). I am in Fort Collins Colorado and recently acquired a beautiful 2001 Boxster. I've wanted one since they first came out, and it's the fulfillment of a dream for me to finally have my own Boxster (hope that dosen't sound too cheesy!) It's Seal Grey with red leather interior and 18" sport design wheels. The picture was taken by the previous owner on a rosd trip he took to California, and is much better than any pics I've yet to take. My first post, so I hope the pic attaches alright. Nice to be here, looking forward to talking with everyone.
Phil

Welcome! Got my car (Yellow 2001) a couple of weeks ago. This is a good forum, lots of practical info for us newbees. Glad the old timers don't mind sharing their lessons learned.

Alright, lots of new boxster owners coming here. Welcome all...visit often!

seal grey with red leather? this is my dream color combination. unfortunately the only thing I could find when I bought mine was black with grey interior, which is one of my LEAST favorite combinations (definitely the ugliest interior color!).

Congrats!

Brucelee 04-28-2005 11:49 AM

WELCOME ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phil Buxton 04-28-2005 11:53 AM

Thanks Yellowjacket! When I heard the car had a red leather interior my first thought was "no way" Then when I saw it in person I loved it, it's a different shade of red than I was picturing. Now if it would just stop snowing I could get out for a drive...

Hey that's my interior!

I've always been torn about whether it would better with Silver or Seal Gray.
Silver seemed more old school Porsha.

anyooo.... I now have two sets of seats for my Boxster.

Here are my Summer/Racing Seats to go withe the Boxster Red Interior.

I'm digging those seats. Very sweet.

Phil Buxton 04-28-2005 12:32 PM

Yeah, those are nice!!

9000RPMan 04-28-2005 02:35 PM

I will post pics shortly. I washed the car this morning, and within 2 hours it was covered in pollen again! As soon as the pollen is over, and I get some nice weather, you all will get pictures. Thanks for the friendly words of encouragement. Oh, yes I used to own an S2000.

Perfectlap 04-28-2005 03:30 PM

PhilBuxton, do you have teh Silver crest on the steering wheel? I have it on mine and I also have the silver door handles. I didn't know these were options.

I also picked up this bumper

I was going to bid on that. How much did you end up winning the bid for? Enjoy!

Perfectlap 04-28-2005 06:04 PM

$1700. Two for one! :)

BoxsterMD 04-28-2005 07:04 PM

I am also new. Just got a 2005 Boxster S. Triple Black. I just put the clear turn signals on today. I will post pics this weekend. BTW, I too got rid of my S2000 (2003 Trip Black) for my new Boxster.

9000RPMan 04-28-2005 07:10 PM

I didn't trade my S2000 for the Boxster. I traded the S2000 for a '95 NSX, then a Mini Cooper S, then a Subaru STi, NOW the Boxster. People think I change cars like some people change clothes!

Adam 04-28-2005 07:10 PM

Those seat look just like the seats in a GT3. Are they the same?
