***FYI - Deals on MAF Sensor
Dear enthusiasts,
I thought I'd share this with ya'll but ******************************** AZ has got a good deal on MAF Sensors. The non-egas is running for $155 and the egas is $216 which I thought was cheap when compared to my dealer ($595) and other online stores ($290 range). Mine's the non-egas which I will be installing on my '99 Guards Red. Laters! |
Opinions on this...mine's an '01 S with 54K miles and (far as I know---got her in 2006 w/ 19K) has the original MAF sensor. Should I buy one on sale and just stick it in a drawer? At what point do they typically go? Or does that vary widely?
Just wondering... |
Mine went @ about 45,000 miles - there was no apparent drop off in performance, but my newly purchased Durametric logged the fault, and there was no CEL either. Porsche picked up the tab as I had an extended warranty.
There was a definate increase in mid range power with the new MAF. That Durametric is a fine piece of kit to have in the garage - it paid for itself in one easy diagnostic as I wouldn't have picked up the faulty MAF without it...... :) |

Posted by Steve Tinker. Yeah, agreed...I'd love to have one. But we've got a number of cars around here...and they're not all from Germany  If I had a stable full of p-cars (or even TWO), I'da had one ages ago (or whenever I bought the second Porsche). |
