99 Boxster shifter replacement

Need help on how to remove shifter and boot on 99 Boxster.

If it's a standard shift knob, just use your fingers to pry the base of the boot upwards (all that's holding it down are clips), and then put your shift knob in second gear and pull it towards yourself...it is just press fit. If you have the upgraded aluminum/leather knob, then after pulling the boot base up, you'll need to use an Allen key to unscrew the Allen bolt under the 3rd gear location of the knob, which holds the knob to the shaft.
