CD changer trouble

I've been reading this forum since May 2008 when I bought my 02 986. It has been very helpful and informative.
The car is stored for the winter now, but I hope somebody can help me with a factory CD changer problem. Whenever I try to choose the CD changer on the head unit, it says 'MAGAZINE'. When I try to eject the CD magazine from the changer, it will not eject.
Anybody know how to resolve this issue?
Thanks for any help.

It is in the right way, but I can not get it to play or eject. It is holding my CDs hostage!
I am sure someone must have had this problem before,,, any other ideas?
Thanks.

Pull the faceplate on the radio and clean the contacts. The faceplate controls all functions and if it's not properly aligned or have clan contacts, it cannot communicate it's instructions to the HU and CD Player.

Thanks for the ideas, but no luck solving the problem yet.
The car is put away for the Minnesota winter now, but I'll probably call one of the local dealer service departments for ideas so I can solve it before spring.
