Problems with my 02 Boxster S. Could use advice

So I have some issues with my 02 986.

1. The headlights are dim/ might as well not work.
It started with just one but now both are like that, yet the highbeam and foglights both still work. Is it a lightbulb issue or electrical?

2. When I drive i hear a clicking noise. I hear this horrible clicking noise like a stick in between a bycicles spokes coming from my rear tire. I keep getting it checked but cant find anything! Has anyone else had this issue?

It sounds like both of your low beam headlights are burned out. There is a small, dim running light bulb that is probably all the light you are getting.

How do i change them? How can I take the lights out of the car.?

Did a small rock get lodged in between the tire treads? Any chance there is a rock stuck in your brake pad that is catching the rim?

Have you an owner's manual?

Headlight bulb replacement is covered there. Only tricky thing is the high beam is the lower bulb, low beam is the higher one. You can test the bulb theory by swapping the high beam and low beam bulbs in the standard headlights (non-Litronics).

If you don't have an owner's manual, PM me. I can point you to an electronic copy.

Another forum member had the same problem. Turned out a wheel weight was placed on the edge of the rim. The brake cable tie broke and when the weight cam around it hit the brake cable. If not that, look at your axles, check them carefully for problems.

As for the clicking, I'd vote for checking for a rock in the tire tread, but it sounds like this kind of thing has already been looked at. I'd also check the CV boots to make sure one is not torn. The clicking could be a worn CV joint, but it would be louder when cornering hard onto the side with the sound.

Im gonna check it out tomorrow, hopefully its not the CV boot! Seems like a expensive fix. I will keep everyone posted.
