2004 Boxster S Anniversary Edition
I recently opened up the engine compartment to change my air filter to be surprised that it uses the 987 air filter. I bought a bunch of parts off pelican parts assuming that i have a 986 engine, including a bunch of oil filters and spark plugs.
My question is do i have a 986 or a 987? Do I have to return the air filter and spark plugs or will they still work on my 2004 Boxster S Anniversary Edition? The 987 uses the same oil filter but not the same spark plugs or air filter. Thanks! |
If it's a 2004, it's a 987.

The AE used the intake that mostly made it's way into the 987, that's one of the places where the extra couple of HP came from. I'm not sure on the spark plugs, but I'd expect Pelican to be able to tell you. Rest assured, your car is a 986.
