Some facts:

When Excellence magazine first covered my efforts in 2004 with a 6,000 word "Tech Forum" I had never spent a dollar advertising with them, no ad from my company graced their pages.. we were backlogged for 8 months with zero advertising other than word of mouth and a website....

When Excellence covered our M96 work in an extensive article in December of 2008 I also still hadn't advertised with them. o one ever asked me to or suggested that I should. In that article Jim Pasha wrote his last Tech Forum, 8,000 words about these engines and what our group has done to develop them, identify the issues and solve the problems.

After that article I also had never advertised with them, in fact my first ad with them didn't start until the end of 2009. Being an advertiser hasn't changed the way we are treated by the staff of what is covered in the articles, or how often our names are mentioned.

Excellence isn't operated on the "buddy system" as the other dozen magazines that our efforts have been covered in on multiple occasions. It is fairly common for articles to be written for products or services being given to the writer, with some magazines you'll get nothing unless you give away some goods.. Excellence won't accept anything at all, they ask for nothing at all and they treat everyone fairly.

So, SPPMO has made another assumption that is absolutely incorrect. I'll close by stating that every drop of "ink" we have received has been given to us in respect for the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into gathering the material through actual experience. Excellence appreciates that and so do most others.

We also had the information that no one else had, had the pictures that no one else had and thats because we have the experience that no one else does at this level... Thats because we were forward thinkers several years ago when people were telling us we were "crazy for working on a disposable engine that could be bought new for less than it could be rebuilt". I know of SEVEN of those shop owners that told us that who are no longer in business, while we are adding employees and adding to our facility. They "dated" themselves as many Porsche shops have done and the majority have or will pay the price for this soon.

I wonder how many magazine articles SPPMOs work has been featured in?? How many different languages are those magazines written in?

Not to mention that the two part IMS article in "Excellence" was not written by Jake, but authored by Tony Callas and Tom Prine of Callas Rennsport, an independent Porsche specialty shop in Hawthorne, CA..........

Well when the stealership is charging those sorts of labor rates I guess the Indy is in a good position to keep his above average too. Although that has more to do with supply and demand... if there aren't many indys in that area then they'll leverage that.

send in a sample for an oil analysis, pretty inexpensive. I think some members on this board have posted their results. Might give you some background on the state of things.

Wow. Like I said, I hope I get anywhere close to 100K from my Boxster.

I ran 165K on my BMW 3 series that I bought new. It was a very reliable and fun car. But it was definitely showing it's age at that point. 320K from any vehicle, much less a P-car is impressive.

Wow didn't mean to cause such a controversy over whether the IMS failure is real or not. I just meant that it’s something that we all are always so worried about because of so much talk of IMS failures. For me I think I would of rather of not known about the IMS, when it happens it happens....... I will worry about it then. Or I guess pay the money to do the upgrade before it happens. But I thought I read somewhere that Jake didn't recommend doing it in a high mileage car? Is that correct Jake?

I agree on your feelings about the IMS. When it happens it happens. If my car dies a sudden death, I'll be sad for a little while -- then I'll go car shopping and buy a new Boxster (or probably a Cayman).
