First Engine Bay Inspection
So I have opened up the engine bay and it looks very clean. A lot of dust but nothing to dirty.
I notice a lot of hydralic fuild on the top of the cap where is says to fill. some of it look kind of fresh and it was very sticky. Should I get it looked at? I cleaned the area really good to see if it comes back...I was thinking maybe when they topped it off last time it could have spilled. Any comments? |
That's the power steering pump. They could have not tighten it down full and some oil was blown out. Mine was dirty to. I taped in plastic around my engine cover hole. Then sprayed a can of engine degreaser on it, then washed it off with a water hose. Looks great now.

The dirty spot on the Boxster is under the car -- in front of the rear wheel about halfway across the car. That is where the rear main seal (RMS) will leak oil.
