roof not opening

roof will not open on my boxster,closed fine the night before went to open in morning opened latch windows came down as normal, but roof would not open, one side at the back tries to open, the other motor on the other side is not engaging at all it seems!!! The light for roof on dash is permanantly on. I don't know where to start really, but could it be sensor does anybody know?

It sound as if one of the drive cables has stretched and is not engaging in the transmission on that side.

Is the clam shell opening up?
If no, then you probably have a broken cable.
If yes, then you probably have a broken plastic ball pivot.

Sorry to hear about your trouble.
I recently had issue with my top as well and the guys at this forum helped me fix it.

pedro you are the man in the know, one cable had stretched and it cost me £500 to get it done by porsche ' not happy with the price but what can you do. thanks for your advice big kev

thanks for your advice bc it was a broken cable it cost me £500 at porsche to get fixed

thanks for your advice it was a stretched cable which cost me £500 at porsche
