Looking for recommendation on new bluetooth stereo / deck

Washington just made it illegal to hold a cell phone while driving. Therefore, I'm looking to replace my 1998 Boxster's stereo with a unit that includes bluetooth tech.

Any recommendations? On either a brand/model of new deck, or on an installer?

The reason I ask, is that places like Cartoys tend to have flashy decks with all sorts of lights and displays. I prefer something simple and elegant.

To be clear: I've currently got the original factory-installed stereo/CD player. It's about the size of a tower computer's CD drive.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

You should do a search. This forum has covered it pretty extensively. I just installed a 2-Din headunit in my car. Wasn't too hard and came out very well. Bought a Kenwood DNX7140 for the looks and features.

This does make me wonder though. My iphone 3gs doesn't hook up to the receiver prefectly for the ipod function. Music still plays, but the headunit says disconnected and the phone says that the headunit is not compatible. Anyone else have this problem?

Get a bluetooth headset and skip the auto integration (which more people seem to have problems than success with).

are you using the regular USB -> iPhone cable or did you buy the Kenwood iphone cable?

pretty sure you need their cable for 2-way comm with the phone/pod...
