Replica Rims

Hi Everyone,

I purchased a 2000 Boxster S back in March of this year for my birthday and I was thinking of purchasing Cerrara Lights replica rims on eBay, has anyone purchase them and does 10"x18" and 8"x18" fit the boxster?

Thanks

There are several threads on wheel fits for different year 986/987. I believe you'll have issues with the 10 wide rears on the 2000 S.
There are also more than one repro of the Carrera Light wheels, be careful. Better to spend too much than have a cheapo break and do serious damage to your car.
Try doing a search for "The Wheel Thread" tons of good info and many, many, many cool wheels.

Hope you have all night!!

I apologize in advance if this is covered in the linked thread, but I don't have the time to read 90+ replies.

Those 18's will work on an 00S IF the offsets are correct. The proper Boxster offset for 8x18 is 50 and 10x18 is 47 (+ or - a couple, but in this neighborhood). 911 wheels will be similar in front but something like 65 on the rear and that won't work on a Box unless you want to use a huge spacer (which you don't).

There are lots of wheels on ebay saying they'll fit every Porsche known to man, but don't buy anything until you know the offsets are correct for a Box.

Do a search on offset and you'll get a real education.

The offset claimed is 50mm for the front and 65mm for the rears, does that mean i will require spacers?

Thanks

Correct, 65mm offset will not fit the rear. At least not without a 20mm spacer.

I recently put Cayman S replicas on my car 18x8 front, 18x10 rear. Front offsets are 50mm, rears are 47mm. The rears fit, but clearance to the strut is tight -- probably 5mm at most. I haven't experienced any rubbing, but I'm running 265/35... I think 275s would rub. If you can find 10" rears with a 43mm offset, you would have enough room for wider tires.

Good luck.
