Engine swap

My 1999 2.5 makes strange noise at idle ever sice replacing alternator,it has 77K miles on it . I have a chance at a 2005 "S" engine with ECU .What will it take to make this engine swap? My brother-in-law took it in trade on a car and its mine if I can use it.
