I will be there in spirit listening to radiolemans.com and watching the feed on speed. Go Lizards!

Lobo1186 05-20-2010 06:00 PM

well if you are stateside it should be playing on CBS sports on TV!

kabel 05-20-2010 06:06 PM

I hope to make it to that race in person one of these days. This time will be catching the live streaming feed offered through the alms website, live timing and scoring and tv coverage ;) Pulling for all my favorites, Mazda Porsche and BMW.

ChrisZang 05-20-2010 06:30 PM

I rather drive myself than watch others drive :)
Therefore I will be in Buttonwillow with PCA this weekend

Lobo1186 05-20-2010 06:41 PM

well I hope you have a good time in buttonwillow! there is an AX this weekend im not sure if ill be going on sunday... not sure what ill be doing. either way the main event is saturday and ill be there for sure.

cas951 05-20-2010 08:55 PM

I'll be there.

jmatta 05-21-2010 08:23 AM

well if you are stateside it should be playing on CBS sports on TV!

Yeah, a week later and edited down to one hour, at most! I'll be watching online from the ALMS feed...can't wait a week to watch the Corvettes get dusted by the RSRs again. Looking forward to the show coming to Road America this August.

Lobo1186 05-21-2010 08:35 AM

that stinks! owell i guess. its too bad it doesnt get as much support as nascar!

i plan to do the porsche parade lap too!

landrovered 05-21-2010 09:55 AM

ALMS is actually gaining market share and the series has never been stronger. Granted it does not get NASCAR coverage but it is doing very well.

Lobo1186 05-21-2010 11:24 AM

well i stand corrected! didnt know that it was getting more popular. I sure enjoy it of course!

but nascar... that stuff is just beyond me. only left turns and cars that dont remotely resemble their names sake except for having 4 wheels seats and a steering wheel.

Reborn996 05-21-2010 11:42 AM

I will be there... but as a guest of the Bell Micro racing team in their suite rather than the Corral. :(

I will also be bringing my Cayenne rather than the Boxster since I am taking some other people. :(

Still should be a fun event, as long as the weather plays nice!

David

Lobo1186 05-21-2010 11:48 AM

well I dont think you can complain about a suite! that sounds pretty awesome. if you see a silver boxster 986 in the corral you know ill be there have fun up in the suite im sure it has a nice view of the starting/ pit area

Reborn996 05-21-2010 11:49 AM

I will be sure to make the rounds and visit the Porsche Corral. I have some friends from my old Yosemite region that are supposed to be there as well. Looking forward to it.

unklekraker 05-21-2010 12:31 PM

I will be there tooooooooo :D planning to leave around 8 am tomorrow.

this will be my first time after almost 2 years of being away from any car scene

Parade Lap was the best...I did that during the summer of 08...just don't get carried away in the cork screw turn :D :D :D

Lobo1186 05-21-2010 12:56 PM

sweet! when I went during the monterey historics there wasnt a single boxster (maybe one that i missed) in the corral who knows maybe I just missed them all. but im hoping there will some boxsters there for this race. ill be there tonight for an hour or two for the practices. last time I checked flying lizard had the fastest practice times

unklekraker 05-21-2010 01:01 PM

cool! you won't miss my car..it has euro plate # 0528 in front. hopefully we;ll run into each other this weekend!

cas951 05-21-2010 06:26 PM

Let's make it a point to meet.

Let's meet in front of Gerry's car at noon ?

Or my car since it should be easy to distinguish.

unklekraker 05-21-2010 08:42 PM

beside the euro plate...my car still dirty :(

let's meet up in front of your car by noon and grab lunch right after...that is if you're not going to lap parade :D

by the way, lobo...if you see someone wearing a orange Napoleon Dynamite hat...that would be me

More like we'll be watching the Corvettes and the RSRs getting dusted by the BMWs and freakin' Risi Ferrari. I hate that team.

Lobo1186 05-22-2010 05:51 AM

well... unfortunately the 45 car didnt do too well in practice but it had started wrong. hopefully they can figure out whatever the problem is. HOWEVER, risi and flying lizard are tied for first in the as it stands so it should be a good race!

landrovered 05-22-2010 07:47 PM

Wow, just wow...that was one of the best races I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Truly epic racing, I cannot wait to see the 90 minute story next Sunday on CBS it is being produced by the folks that did Truth in 24, I bet it will be as good as the race.

Lobo1186 05-22-2010 08:46 PM

I agree it was one of the best races I have been too go to never mind watch plus being able to do the parade lap... VERY AWESOME... wow idk if ill be able to sleep after all the excitement.

Reborn996 05-22-2010 09:24 PM

Shoot, I went to the Porsche Platz but not a single soul was there! I did get to check out the cars though. :D

Found out our Bell Micro racing team (Rahal / Letterman) was the BMW crew. LOL

Hopefully next time I can take the Boxster instead of the Cayenne so I can do the parade lap. It was cool to see they used Cayenne's as track vehicles, could not believe there were only two in our corral and neither was a turbo!

jmatta 05-23-2010 06:43 AM

Pat Long and the RSR came through! It was Joey Hand's race to lose...and he did. Terrific restart by Long; wish I were there in person. The internet feed was great; I love watching races without all the commercials. Next weeks CBS broadcast will be one hour of race highlights and 30 minutes of "Go Daddy" ads. :D

As for the Nascar coverage on Speed...well, I can't type my real comments here, but they can keep the whole bag of garbage. Really makes me long for the old Speedvision.

landrovered 05-23-2010 06:52 AM

As a big fan of Truth in 24, I noticed that about half way through the webcast of the race the framing of the shots changed from a TV sports style to a more artistic style. The quality of the video improved and the whole visual coverage was more interesting.

The guys that did Truth in 24 are the NFL films guys and they know how to tell a story. I personally think the program will be exceptional, cant speak for the ads but the program should be far better than a highlight reel.

Same here...i went there and very cool to see all the Porsche cars in one lot but looks like they are having a meeting, so wifey and I just continue to wander around in between races and just hanged out at Turn 4 and Grandstand area.

It was an awesome day to celebrate our anniversary! Knowing that my wife is not really into cars, I was really surprise that she was having a blast looking at the race cars and can't hardly contain herself when she saw all the Porsche Race Cars by Flying Lizard annnnnnnnd, Jorge  LOL! But it's all good...she had so much fun watching the race eventhough we are not really a followers of any racing series :)

The best part for me was, when I got most of the drivers signed one page of the programs :D

Lobo1186 05-23-2010 08:32 AM

it was always pretty empty the whole race. I think its because you cant really see any of the race from the tent. unlike the audi tent that was packed because they could watch their tent TVS and the track from their seats.

unklekraker 05-23-2010 08:58 AM

Here Iam sporting a Flying Lizard cap next to 2 Risi Team
