Temp gauge

Should the temp gauage always be in between the 8 and 0 when the car is warm? I'm noticing when I sit in traffic the gauge goes up but not on the RED. I haven't sat in traffic that long. Good I hope not.
I've seen it more on the zero. Then when traffic is alleviated the temp gauge goes back in between the 8 and 0. Is this normal?

Between 8 and 0? You mean the 180 degree mark on the gauge. Yeah, it's normal for it to go up slightly. The car ususlly settles in between 180-185 on the highway and raises slightly in stop and go when the weather is warm.

Totally normal. If you listen carefully, you will hear the cooling fans come on when you sit in traffic.
