...to removing the center caps without buying the ridiculously overpriced "Porsche removal tool"?

I tried 2 long ice-pick type devices in each hole and pried, rotated, squeeze, everything.. wouldn't budge.

what's the trick here?

just got a new set and am anxious to get em on!

Remove the wheel and pop it from behind.

Take a wire coat hanger, cut it and bend it into a U shape. Bend the last inch/inch and a half of each end of the U shaped wire 90°. Insert the wire into the two holes on the center cap, and pull.

Rick's suggestion will work. You can also use a small L shaped Allen key to pull it off.

You will have to tug on it a bit as it is a pressure fit. I used a hooked tool and pulled on it with a bit of force to get mine off. Allen key works wonders!!!

nothing easier than just removing your wheel.. dont scratch your pricey caps with...coat-hanger...

+1 on wheel removal...also gives you an opportunity to clean and wax the inner portion that is usually difficult to access from the exterior.
