99 Boxster - Convertible Top Stuck Open
 

I was out today for a great ride, drove up the driveway, put the car in part, emergency brake on, convertible top will not close. The indicator light is on. Of course I just had it in for service and they serviced the convertible top.

Is there an easy fix for this or do I need to take it back to the shop.

Help a newbie please.

Checked b6 d3 fuses, they visually look ok.

I did notice the brake light does not go on when I engage the emergency brake.

I am going to continue down this path.

The microswitch on the emergency brake that allows the roof to go up is a common failure point. Mine is intermittent. I used Pedro's relay modification to remove the interlock completely. It is extremely convenient to be able to put the top up or down as I'm puttering through a parking lot.
