Trouble Closing Latch After GAHH Install

Hi Guys, In the fall right before storing my car I got a GAHH top installed. Love it. In order to "let it stretch for 2 weeks" as instructed by the installer, I just parked it for the winter as usual figuring that would do the trick. This installer has been doing convertibles since the 1930s and generally know what they area doing.

Fast forward to yesterday. I got the car out of storage. I put the top down. No problem. I went to put the top up -- again no problem; until I went to latch it down.

The "hook" seems about 1/4 inch too far from the latch. Unless I get 2 guys outside to force the roof forward and down, it just won't latch.

Clearly I need to get that top another 1/4 forward. Is there an easy adjustment that can be done in convertible frame/assembly or other area that will do the trick?

Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions much appreciated!!

Thanks, guys!

You need to take it back to guy who installed it. I understand from some guys who have either DIY or had it done they had a fit problem. I believe one of the solutions is there is some material that can be removed in the front of your top.

You had a shop do this. They should fix it for you. If not, here are two ideas:

1. Park it out in the sun for a few days with the top up.

2. If that does not work, then you can adjust it just a bit in the back. To do the adjustment, put the top in the service position. Down by where the back cables connect to the car, you will see a block with a bolt (1 on each side). Counterclockwise reduces tension, allowing the top to sort of tip forward a bit more, which should allow you to close it. However, this of course affects other things as well...
