I believe it fell off a Honda Civic... :barf:

That has to be one of the worse items I have ever seen on a Boxster; or any Porsche, for that matter.

Manufactured by Wahl Et Leitnr Designs Inc.
Model Phu-KN_UUGH_LI_4U

The extra roll bar that looks like it's designed for land based parasailing blows as well.

He's got an "RS" badge on the back...guess he lost his Type R.

Rollbar extensions may be mandated by some sanction bodies for track events, but I doubt that car has ever seen a track...only the local ricer hang-out.

TimAustinW 03-23-2010 07:02 PM

that's a crime. eegad.

Don't let the guys from Brey-Krause know that....
You know I drive with a mounted B-K rollbar all summer as it's too much of a pain in the butt to replace it between track days....

That car IS an RS...

... and AFAIK it's the only OEM Boxster RS ever made.
I saw it in 2008 at BRBS and I can tell you that it is an incredible machine.
Factory RS tuning on the engine, tons of Carbon Fibre and PCCB.

an ugly one.

jmatta 03-24-2010 07:12 PM

I cannot believe the factory would produce something that ridiculously fugly...
there must be more to this story.

Anyone out there old enough to remember JC Whitney? We used to kid that cars like that were magnetized and driven through their warehouse.

Haha I just ordered heat shield tubing from them, they are still kicking. Remember the hood ornament collections they had? Including a man thumbing his nose which lit up... Before you guys go running for the credit cards, I think they discontinued it. :)

I suspect what happened was that Porsche did build the car to RS specs for the owner, but that the owner personalized the car by adding on the multitude of tacky Porsche crest decals on the side of the spoiler and top of the trunklid and then tacked on an RS badge on the rear portion of the bumper. It may be an amazing Boxster, but it sure ain't pretty. :D

dallison 03-25-2010 10:40 AM

it's def not as bad as those park benches.

Yoadrian 03-25-2010 11:17 AM

Boy racer?

jbs986 03-25-2010 06:48 PM

I agree with Jmatta, I would not have that thing on my Boxster.

MIMA 03-27-2010 07:13 PM

wow that spoiler is not ugly ITS FUGLY!!!!

stay away from ricer parts on EUROpean car...

tsk tsk tsk...

Reborn996 03-28-2010 12:26 PM

Okay, how about we change direction on this thread and someone tell me about that rear bumper... it does not look like the typical 987 style but I may be wrong. Looks kinda nice. :)
