Wanna Autocross a new Panamera?

I was surprised to see 8 shiny new Porsche Panameras lined up at the AX course during the Festival of Speed in Fontana today. Take a couple of quick laps with a professional Porsche instructor and then switch seats to see how it is done by the pros. Launch control in the turbo is um... unbelievable!

Autocross is always a kick. Autocross OPC (driving other peoples cars) is the bomb. If you are going tomorrow, get there early. Lines will be long in the afternoon for the Panameras.

The agility, for such a large car, is quite surprising. I instruct for a couple groups and am looking forward to Porsche dealership days when I can spend some additional time behind the wheel on a good road course.

Free and "other people's car" is always the best!

BTW, I'll be at Autobahn CC (Joliet IL) for the first driving session of the year for Laps, Inc on Monday (4-12) if anyone will be out there in Chicagoland.

Business was brisk at the AX test track all weekend. Each day we saw a different mix of new P cars to try out. Responses from those who did marathon AX testing we asked which one was the most fun to drive... The Boxster.

Boxsters also represented well in the time trials, outrunning nearly all other stock classes except GT3.

Our local Porsche dealer did the same when the Cayman first launched. We held a one lap shoot out with a trophy. I hope they told the future owner of that car that it came pre-whipped.

Well... you know it's just part of the post-manufacture testing process as sanctioned by the factory I'm sure....

Is there an instructor school somewhere that I need to go to? That sounds like a pretty amusing gig.
