Ruf fit a V8 in their latest creation.

How long before Porsche are doing the same?

Dr. Piech probably has it on the drawing board...Ruf just beat him to it.

I think we'll see some pretty awesome things out of Porsche in the future, now that the bean counters are gone. VW group has no need for the overlapping vehicles of late and desire to build Porsches based on their roots.

how long till we can shoe-horn one of these into the boxster???

Awesome!

But I dont think porsche will be doing this anytime soon. Everyone is leaning towards "hybrid"?

Besides, we see v8's fitting into miatas (monstermiatas, LS1,2), v6's into mr2s (3vz, 2GR etc etc) but they were never mass produced to the public :(. I guess its up to us enthusiast to make the move! w00t w00t

Wow! Very impressive sounding powerplant.

I am sorry but with cap and trade, 35 MPG mandated mileage, I am afraid your dreams will have to wait, at least from Porsche direct.

Unless it is aftermarket, life the Ruf.
:)

Can you shoehorn a BMW M3 or 335i Turbo engine in a Boxster? Now that would be cool. :D
