I'll have the Boxster out in about 2 weeks.

Today, and this weekend, I'll do about 300-400 miles in the 993 Turbo. She got washed & waxed yesterday. Already signed-up and paid for a DE at Gingerman (April) and Blackhawk (May) for the Turbo. I need to learn to tame +408 HP!

I took my Boxster out for a long drive yesterday and it was great; I'll keep the winter tires on for at least a few more weeks.

I'm in Valpo, over in NW Indiana. Drove mine to the office today. I've actually had mine out few times over the winter. If it's nice, no salt on the road and decent temps, I'll get mine out.

>but what was the temp overnight and what is the temp of the pavement?
>And what kind of tires do you have? Cold pavement
>means cold tire compound which means not as effective in gripping the
>microscopic imperfections in the road surface
>and that translates into lots less traction.

Please say you are joking

Not so microscopic imperfections = Just slow down !

I've been driving mine all winter too. A hardtop and a set of winter tires, and this car is great in the snow.

This is not spring. Don't be fooled. My other car won't come out until April, and after the roads are completely cleaned of salt. The Boxster will also get a top/bottom/nooks and crannies wash too.

My 01 has been in an offsite garage, took it for a 25 mile ride today, put it back. All I ever do is fill up the gas tank and unhook the negative battery clamp.

My other 2 Porsches have snow tires and have been daily drivers all winter.
