Replacing top canvas

Got my Boxster a couple months ago, and haven't really driven it more than when i drove her home, because of the winter.
However, the top has seen it's best days, and is not black anymore, has some damage and a cracked window. The good news are that i got a new top canvas (plastic window tho) with the car when i bought it, but i'm pretty sure it's not OEM, as it's in a bulk box, and no Porsche logos anywhere.

I remember reading somewhere that i can just install an aftermarket canvas without replacing the frame, is that correct? I also checked a DIY i found, which said i needed double sided adhesive tape. Do i have to buy anything else to get it there?

What's the best DIY article on this subject?

Hoping to be able to drive my car within a month, as i don't want to ruin the car in the salt in the winter, and also didn't get an additional heater for this season. Seriously not starting a Porsche in temperatures below freezing, not to mention the nights below -30!

Hi, I replaced my top last summer and used Mike Focke's instructions.

I tried using double tape with no success and used contact glue instead and it worked great.

Take your time and be patient also I had my wife helping me for the installation and to stay calm :D

Good Luck
