custom make exhaust bypass valve?

There seems to be very mechanical people on this forum, so i would like to ask if anyone has done this.

Is there and can you get a generic vacum/electric bypass valve and splice it inline with the pipes before the muffler?

It may not give any HP increases, but I am sure there is a way that a pressure switch can be rigged to open under open thottle and give a more agressive note to the car.

Just a thought.

I'm sure it can be done, the hard part is finding the components and doing it for less than the Porsche sport exhaust. Use electric "hot rod"cut-outs? Some newer cars ( Mustang? ) have lightly spring loaded flappers in the mufflers that open with increased back-pressure.

There was a guy on here that rigged up a butterfly valve exhaust a couple years ago. His name was Bogg or something and he posted a step by step and sound clips. He went to all that work and the general consensus was that it sounded like crap. Try searching "exhaust valve" and I'm sure his thread will pull up.

*edit* Found it.
