boxster 03 from storage and my soft top convertible is not operational .....

my 03 porsche runs and looks god! but... after winter 3 month storage i tried to open my top- something made a funny noise behind my seat(driver) --->maybe motor was slipping?seems like it?...

then i closed it and tried opening again and now its not working at all...
windows still open and close when i open the latch but top is not operational

1. checked fuses ok
2. windows open and latch button is working

what could it be? do you think its pretty pricey to get it fixed? would i be better off ordering zeintop?

Maybe it's still frozen....Can you get it open 12-18" so you can see the arms that move the top. You may have broken one and it is most likely not that expensive of a repair compared to a Zientop.

you can manually open the top and check the cables ( check your owner's manual for info on how to do that.) does the motor make any noise at all now?

for the most part the top motors are quite resilient and one of the few moving parts on the car least prone to problems - from what i've heard / read.

Do the indicator of the hand brake light up in your dash when you pull it??

maybe your handbrake sensor is stuck so the car think it's not on the handbrake and don't let you operate the top?

It happened to me a few times..

edit: nevermind, I missed the part that the softtop engine was doint some noise :P
