CDR220 Radio Backlight issue

I have searched this forum and others and have found no other instances of my issue. I have an 00 boxster with a CDR-220 Radio installed. The CDR-220 has an issue with the backlight mostly not light up and sometimes flickering on randomly. I have tried cleaning the contacts between the radio and the face plate but this did not help. Everything else works on the radio except sometimes the left speaker will stop working only when a CD is being played. Any advice would be great. Thanks

The usual suspect is the faceplate failing to make good contact with the rest of the radio. Here's the contact information for Becker repair: http://www.beckerautosound.com/Service.html

You might want to see if they have any suggestions.

I've been having the same issue too. It's indeed something with the faceplate not making good contact, as it lights up when I touch it. Then again it sometimes only lights up, but the text can still be gone.
