Jake, truly sorry to read those words but very happy your dad was able to leave this world from his own home on some of his own terms.

Jake, your father may be gone, but certainly will not be forgotten...he sounds as though he was a very special person and has passed those traits on to you.

My condolences and hope this brings you new strength and determination.

Sincerest condolences to Jake and the family. That was a warm, wonderful memory and tribute to your father. Thanks you for sharing it.

Sorry for the loss Jake. I lost my father two years ago and still feel the pain of loosing my hero.

Also sorry for your loss, great story about your dad, brought tears to my eyes, reminded me of the loss of my parents,

Sorry for your loss Jake. Sounds like you were a good son that he was proud of.

Your dad may be gone, but his memories will be with you forever.

He will be looking down and watching over your shoulder with pride and a smile.

My dad loved to work on cars. When he passed away, the neighbor's 4 yr old kept asking where he was. Her mom said he was in Heaven. When she finally realized what that meant, she asked, "is he working on God's cars?" That was the most healing thing anyone said. From the mouth of a 4 yr old.

I am sorry to hear about your loss Jake. Even though I don't know you personally, I feel like I do after reading all your posts on this site!!! Your honesty, enthusiasm and character come out strong in your statements here.

My father also has heart issues and has been restling with them for over 10yrs so I know what you must have had to go through.

But, if I could sit here at this keyboard right now and know 100% that I would live to be nearly 80 and go peacefully in my sleep like that, I'd sign on the dotted line right now!

Sounds like you lost one helluva special friend.
My dad passed on five years ago, also of an ailing heart.
I think of him every day. From what I’ve read, sounds like you’ll be doing the same.

Sorry for your loss Jake. My father died about 10 years ago, but everytime I think about him he comes alive if only for a few seconds. Think of him often. Ed

Our hearts go out to you and your family, Jake. I lost my Mom about a year ago and have moved in to help care for my Dad. I know my Pop will always have my back. Seems like your's was the same. All our best.
