Well it finally happened.......
 

Yup, pictures say it all. After 8 years of not a scratch on her she gets SMASHED.

A combination of slick roads due to ealier rain and heavy traffic. I ended up under a Ranger Rover.

Sorry to hear, but that's fixable, and at least you didn't get hurt. I'm sure it'll look good as new after the repairs.

That's a bad feelling ain't it? When you're braking and braking and you just KNOW you don't have quite enough space between you and the stopped vehicle in front of you.

I did that a couple of winters ago (not in the Boxster). Driving in the snow, a lot of traffic, slick, curvy roads in the Cleveland area, probably going no faster than 30-35 mph. Wasn't paying close attention, I guess, maybe changing the radio station, when I noticed the car in front of me STOPPED a few car-lengths away. Hit the brakes, knowing full well I didn't have the distance I needed to stop. Slowed down as much as I could until the last sec (skidding, basically), then let up on the brakes, yanked the wheel to the right, and ended up in someone's front lawn, adrenaline-rushing like crazy, fingernails digging into the steering wheel.

I feel your pain, 2 days after I got mine I backed out of the driveway and into my Mountaineer. Put a nice hole in my rear bumper. It didn't even scratch my SUV, just knocked the Liscense plate off. Luckily I found a painted artic silver bumber on ebay for something like $290 shipped. I got off lucky with that.

Good to hear your OK, except for maybe your pride. I'm an anal motor head and anytime I find a scratch or rock chip on any of my vehicles, I loose my mind :mad: . I feel for ya.

You can look on the bright side though, if you were ever considering a front end upgrade...now is the time with the help of your insurance company. :dance:

OUCH, sorry to see that. Have wind damage to mine this week, but nothing that bad, and I know how sick it made me feel. So my sympathies man.

That's a bummer, but at least it is really minor cosmetic kind of damage. A good body shop will have your car as good as new after the repair. When you can't see the damage any more you'll feel better.

Pretty car. Looks like a full recovery is in order.

Def sucks, but not so bad that it can't be properly fixed. Just find a good body shop and you should be ok.

I took the car to an amazing body shop which is owned by my mechanics good friend.

He gave me two options. Damages if I'm paying out of pocket with no insurance will run around $3500.

He then said he reccomends me go through insurance and he will fight to REPLACE whatever parts I would like. That includes Head Lights(scuffed up but probably repairable), Fenders, Bumper, Side Skirts.

Oh and I'm going to do the GT3 bumper again with the RS top induction vents just like Perfect Lap likes. :)
