car smells like rotten eggs
 

Hi everyone!

well basically my problem is that every once in a while my car kinda smells like rotten eggs. usually at start up. it's not really an overwhelming smell but it certainly is there. having said that, i can't smell it in the cabin, only the outside. can anyone give me a clue as to whether or not this is normal? thanks

I'll guess catalytic convertor issue, when they first came out the egg smell was common on many models experiencing some sort of restriction in flow.

Rotten egg smell is usually indicative of a bad catalytic converter...

The water in my windscreen washer bottle smelt like rotten eggs after the car had been stored for a while, after cleaning out all was well again, worth checking...........its cheaper than a new cat!
