Ppi

Is there a set checklist for this?
Or does each dealership and indy have their own procedure?
And of course what should they be told to look at - and what do they frequently miss?

There is no set checklist

but many independent Porsche mechanics have their own form which they have worked up over time and are thus able to charge you a standard fee.

An example of one is at this link to a PPI performer in FL . The form he uses was somewhat modeled on a form I received when I had a PPI done on my current car.

So I'd consider Pedro's as an example of a PPI done right. I'd ask to see the PPI form the mechanic intends to use in advance so that you can compare it with Pedro's to see if there are any important differences you might want done.

Shop around for your PPI. I thought I did the right thing by paying my local dealership $400 for mine and having them check over everything on my car.....a-wholes mis diagnosed a wheel bearing as flat spotting and I found other little tiny things wrong with the car that they didn't even bother to mention...

I would have been better off paying $200 at Sacramento's Boxster specialist shop.
