Weird Whirling Noise at Cold Start

I am experiencing a Weird Whirling Noise at Cold Engine Start. The sound will goes away when restart the car during the day. Is this the secondary Air Pump? Thanks in advance.

Probably, but an audio clip would help people opine properly.

Eew. Nope, not secondary air injection.

I vote starter motor pinion gear:

Yup, sounds like the starter. Mine sounded like someone stepping on a cat before I replaced it. No cat noise now.

Thanks for ur replies. If it is the starter, how come it only sounds like that when the engine is cold and no noise when the engine warmed up.
