Which aftermarket stereos match dashboard lights?

I am looking into an aftermarket stereo to replace my CDR-23 but want to maintain the same illumination colors as the dashboard lights. I know Blaupunkt had 4000 or so customized lights one can use but didnt find one on their sight that allows me to control an Ipod with the stereo controls, which is what I'm after. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks,
Greg

jvc hd50 best buy has it for $159. It has the highest rating for fm reception I have found to complement our crappy antenna. Ive got it and it has like 30 color combos and one matches perfectly. I actually prefer the blue as it matches my passport 9500 ix
Hd fm is amazing, but has no preset buttons, which is only a "PITA" at first. I give it an 8 out of 10, but I am really picky.

One reviewer on BB claims it works the ipod with stereo controls

"Plays and charges your ipod at the same time. yu can even controll the ipod from the stereo, you can even go threw your different folders and play lists for the stereo."

Alpine 9855 from a few years ago

I installed an Alpine 9855 in 2008. It is an older model head unit (circa 2005) but allows Sat radio and iPod if you add those modules and it's all done through the head unit controls. Plus you can change the colors of everything but the main screen to 500+ different color options. I just leave my iPod in the toolbag that goes around the spare tire. The iPod connection isn't flawless and the slidebar controls on the front take some getting used to. It's got built in crossover controls and equalizer options. I'm happy with it and there are no blue dolphins dancing across the screen with flashing lights.

Here's some pics, sorry for the poor quality, old camera.

Clarion made a great head unit last year that has variable illumination. If you can still find it somewhere, it is a nice receiver.

I thought it looked a bit cheaply made when I saw pictures of it, but after seeing one in RL and playing with it, it is a nicely made unit. I was going to buy it, but the money just wasn't there.

If you have the funds I would install a 2 din head unit, it really upgrades the look of the dash and it will give you the features that you are looking for, the only downside is the $$$

You can do a double din install for ~$500. The Double din kit is like $170 and you can find AVIC-D3's or AVIC-D2's for around $300 and up on ebay.
