I just basically plugged and played in my 2004 boxster without doing any of the litronic conversion instructions. Everything seems to work fine. Can I just plug and play without doing any wire splicing like in the directions? Will just pluging and playing hurt my boxster?

This is just fine and other owners do what you did because they do not want to mess around with wires.

If you bought the retrofit kit there was a black box control unit with 3 wires, and an additional wiring harness. Without those installed your low xenon bulb will not rotate up a few degrees to fill in with the halogen high beam.
