Is it alright to order O2 sensors from seperate companies?

Hey all, my car is beached in my garage and I need to at least replace the oxygen sensors to get it going again (most of the trouble codes point at the O2 Sensor and MAF). The problem is one of the clips from the old oxygen sensor is very loose and is coming off its plug point. As far as I know the cheaper oxygen sensors do not come with this clip, so I need to order the more expensive Bosch one that comes with the clip.

So I was wondering, if I were to order one from Bosch, and the rest from a generic manufacturer, will it have a negative effect on the car? Will it throw a CEL?

I am ordering from this website:

3 of part number USOS-4000 and 1 of part BS13806

They should all be the same part#. The DME relies on both the signal strength, and the comparitive strength of the other sensors to do it's job. It doesn't take too much variance to make it act screwy.

You could be OK, but if not, you'll have a poorly performing car and will have to do it all again.

It's usally cheaper to do the job right, then to compromise and have to do it all over again.

In that case, can you buy the clip thing that plugs into the ECU separately? I need only one, and it would be silly to throw away 120 dollars just for one clip.

Not that I'm aware of. But, realize that these cars are not cheap to maintain. Sounds like you're just getting used to that. Like I said, you may be OK, but I really don't think so. I 5think if you go that route, you'll end up spending more time and money.

Also, FYI, you cannot solder the old connectors to a new sensor - the sensor uses the air cavity in the wires insulation for control purposes, you cannot block this which soldering would do.
