Experience with Dr. ColorChip Touch-Up?

Need to fix a couple of minor chips -- ran across an ad for Dr ColorChip in Motor Trend and visited their web site http://www.drcolorchip.com/how-it-works.shtml

Looks interesting. Has anyone tried this system before? Experiences?

Thanks.

I've used it. Not perfect, but works reasonably well, and it's unbelievably easy to use. In my experience, the defects can still be seen, but you have to look pretty hard.

I tried using actual touch up paint, with dabbing with a torn match, or a tooth pick, or whatever, and fine sanding etc. A lot of work, and when I was done it really didn't look any better to me than the Dr. CC. People with better technique than I have can probably get a better result with the touch up paint, but it just was not so for me.

+1 on that
don't expect miracles but it works reasonable well

It works pretty well, but don't follow the directions. Let the paint set up in the chip for a half hour or so before rubbing with the solution; otherwise you'll wipe the new paint away, as well.

I've put multiple coats on the chip to build it up, let sit, then rub with solution. You need to rub a bit more, but it doesn't pull the new paint away.

Do a search and you will find a number of write-ups on the topic.

From all I have read, Dr. Color Chip requires a 36 inch rule. Get any closer and you'll see the filled in chips.
