Template for door speakers... My boxster came without door speakers and I would like to add them. Does anybody have the OEM speakers out of the door that they could trace and provide me (or the forum) with a template of the door speaker bracket? With the template upgrading to 6.5" door speakers should be pretty straight forward. Also anyone have a live link to instructions for removing the door panels? Several references to the instructions are no longer available. |

Perhaps this is what you want? http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/boxster/images/b/bf/Door_Baffle_Template.pdf |

you might also want to look at this baffle installation. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21184&view=findpost&p=139896 link fixed. |

I believe it's more than just the baffle - the lower panels of doors with factory speakers are actually bowed out into the cabin to get space behind them (while letting the window descend). When I looked into this a while back, it was the difficultly of getting those matching panels that put me off adding speakers to the doors. When you add in the time to disassemble / reassemble the doors, the difficulty of passing the wires through into the body, and - as you're asking - locating or making the mounting baffles, it turns into a pretty big project. |

looking at this for our 99 2.5, only got front speakers, looks like a real issue adding the door speakers, http://boxster.wikia.com/wiki/File:Boxster_speakers_update_article.pdf guessing rears may be better in the long run http://boxster.wikia.com/wiki/Rear_Speaker_Installation |
