Convertible Top Problems

I have a 97 boxster with top problems. The top will not go down. When the switch is pressed to open the top, it will only try to close further untill the limit is reached. The top light on the dash stays on all the time. I have checked the micro switch on the top motor and it is working good. Could this be a relay problem?

Try pulling on and off the relay switch under the dash, they sometimes get corrided,
The relay is the largest switch on the board
