What are the largest spacers that can be put on my box S?
 

Im looking to get spacers on the rear for my 01 boxster S. I currently have the OEM 18" Turbo Twists with 275/35 tires, Also its lowered one inch. I would like to push it out as much as possiable, even willing to roll the fenders if it comes to it. So lets start with this, will 23mm hubcentric spacers fit my car?

One inch spacers (25mm) will probably fit if your fenders are rolled. However, you may not want to do this...

I had 1 inch spacers on the back of my boxster and it looked great, but I noticed that the tiniest bit of wheel imbalance was magnified by 10 times or more. After balancing the wheels twice at different places I swapped them with 7mm spacers (required to clear the ebrake line) and voila! no more vibration issues.

My indy mechanic also saw them on the car and said, "you really do want to help me pay off my wife's new S class MB, don't you!"

When I asked him why he would say that, he said, "Spacers that large on Boxsters always create far more wear and tear on the wheel bearings."

Of course, it's your car and your money and you're time to sort out issues so you decide what you want to do. More power to the people!

maxspeed motorsports has a kit where you get 7mm/14mm for front/rear.

i ordered it, put it on, and th ink it looks pretty good, nor did I notice any extra vibration or any other issues - yet.

i honestly think mine look about perfect, and wouldn't want to go any wider.

I really want to fill out the wheel wells and make it noticable.

After lots of research 23mm is too big. I think I might go with 17mm. Is that enought to cause damage? (bearing wear, etc)

I have 15 in the front and 18 in the rear.

I'm also after some spacers. My mechanic told me to get 15mm front and 20mm rear.

Cesar, have you noticed any extra wear/imbalance like Randall?

I was told 20mm was the max you would possibly want to go. The reason is undue strain on the wheel bearings.

I had 20's but turned them down to 15's in the back (don;t feel like messing with wheel bearings) and 8s in the front ...plenty of room to spare.
