Porsche approved coolant
 

Does anyone have a list of the official Porsche approved coolants? I was told that the German cars had a pretty restricted list of products that could be used and I couldn't just wander down to the NAPA store and grab any of the standard coolant solutions.

Also, what is the best mix ratio for those of us who live in really, really cold climates?

I recently changed my coolant while installing the LN low temp t-stat. For the money, I purchased OEM Porsche coolant...wasn't worth risking my engine with 15k miles to something other. You can use Pentosin (probably the manufacturer of the OEM), but there is little, if any, cost savings.

There are others that will say to use something like Dex-Cool, but the difference in price is negligible as far as I'm concerned. As far as mix, I would think a 50/50 blend would be fine, but I'm not an expert.

There is only one coolant "approved" by Porsche, their own. As it is not expensive, easy to come by, and mixing with aftermarket stuff has proven to be problematic, buy theirs and mix it 50/50 with distilled water (ony)...................
