Witness the window!

I got this video of eBay and it shows exactly where on my car the top folding oddly (make that 'normally').

This "chop" we all speak of is what got my insurance to pay for my new top! Had I let the top come down naturally and split my window, it would have been a "mechanical problem." Since I got out of the car and hit it, viola, comprehensive insurance kicks in. (Evidently that doesn't affect my rates either.)

It all boils down to a poor design problem. Why use plastic in the first place on a $45,000+ car? Folks in Detroit always used glass on their Mustangs and Chryslers.
had I known that the Boxsters were coming out with the glass window with the '03's, I would've waited a few more months for it: I bought my '02 in Feb. 2002, and I'm kicking myself every time I get out to "chop" silly. :o

it surprises me that the aftermarket world hasn't devised an add on for this.
1997-2002 is a heck of allot of Boxsters.
I'm thinking a spring loaded clip that pops the window into the correct crease?
I wish I were an engineer, I'd be a millionaire.
