No brake lights
None of my brake lights are working. I've put in new bulbs...nothing. Please have mercy and be as detailed as possible if you respond. I'm female and this is my first attempt to troubleshoot my 2003 Boxster and avoid a horrendous bill from the dealer. Someone suggested checking the brake switch. Where is it/what does it look like? Thanks!

The brake light switch is actually attached to your brake pedal.
You basically have to follow the brake pedal up a bit until you see an electrical connector or two, if you also have cruise control or not. Have you checked your fuses first to see if one blew on you? Some people have also reported being able to clean the brake switch to get it to work again. A quick search on brake switch might find another thread with the full information. Looks like this thread is the winner: http://986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16348&highlight=brake+switch BC. |
Thanks! This was very helpful and I was able to fix the problem. I'm so happy I was able to do it myself!
