Front end "Wumping" noise
 

be it that the box has lots of road noise i particularly notice a "wump wump wump" noise in my front end. Car drives fine and I checked the tires - have about 25% left on the rubber...... Question is am I due for an alignment?? Do yours make a similar noise?

Mine used to make a "grionk! grionk!" noise...

it was my control arm squeaking due to it being completely shot. $450 later, it's silent.

Could be your front struts (or are they shocks?)

Get it checked out asap or it gets worse and I mean on your wallet!

Very possibly could be a failing wheel bearing. When wheel bearings fail they make a sound similar to what you've heard.

While you are replacing those tires and alignment the wheels (yes you need both) have them look over the front suspension!

Okay, so the real question is does it "whomp" more when you turn left or right? If it does, then its most likely a wheel bearing. I've got a bad front passenger wheel bearing as well. Its getting more pronounced as I make right turns.

whomping actually lessens in noise when turning, it is on the highway straight roads at speeds over 50mph that it is predominent....

have you checked to see if your lug nuts have been correctly torqued?
If you have the bearing repacked/replaced make sure they apply the right amount of torque. Most garages use the impact gun and never check to see if too much pressure has been used.

Also maybe check the inside of the tires at a wheel and tire shop. I had a used car once and the previous owner didn't have all the flat-fix-in-a-can gunk removed and at about 50mph it produced a hop with an anoying womp womp sound.

I was experiencing the same exact thing. I've found that my car tends to unbalance tires. Have them rebalanced and see if that cures it.
