A salvage title & 20 inch spinners. I can't believe there are 22 bids on it... And you are right - hubcap spinners are as bad as those fake Quattroporte vents that people have been gluing onto their cars lately...
Although, luckily, I have never seen them on a Porsche...

Hah! I wondered when the donk pics would show up.
(Donks, for those of you who were until this moment blissfully unaware, are cars with stupidly huge wheels)
Incidentally, as further evidence that fools and money are not meant to be together, there are businesses that rent wheels to people who want to make their cars look stupid - because obviously they can't be expected to save $4K to buy 25" chrome wheels.

Oh, to answer the original poster's question - running 20's on a Boxster would almost certainly have a negative impact on performance. Presumably they weigh more than the stock wheels, adding more unsprung weight that the Boxster's suspension isn't designed to handle.
I personally can't fathom why anyone would want to raise the center of gravity on a car like a Boxster.
Finally, larger wheels increase rotational inertia - even in the unlikely event that the 20" wheel weighs the same as a 17" wheel, moving some of the mass farther from the axis of rotation will require more energy for acceleration and braking.

Buicks come with fake Quattroporte side vents as standard! The amount of ripping off there is simply amazing.
A Boxster with 20 inch spinners will look just as bad as an Escalade with 4 inch wheels (it looks ugly enough as it is already). Yeaaaaa

Buick is actually not ripping off Maserati. Some older Buicks which predate the Quattroporte came with those vents as well...
