Maf Diy
Hi, I have searched for MAF DIY instructions, does anyone have a link to a thread or a website that has detailed MAF replacement instructions?
|
no real extensive DIY necessary...
- put top into service position and remove engine cover (and speaker box, carpeting, etc.) - release wire connector from top side of MAF - using (T-20 IIRC) torx security bit, remove two screws holding in MAF - pull up on MAF to extract At this point, you can either try and clean your existing MAF w/ QD Electronic parts cleaner or just replace. Reverse directions to install. |

Didn't realize the part cost so much, the Stealership just quoted me a price of $535!!!!!!!! on just the part!!!!!!!!!
|
thus why you should get it online:
AuthausAZ.com has it for $170 or $229 Depending on w or w/o e-gas You 'should' have the e-gas model though. Still 50%+ savings from local stealer ;) |
I never buy anything from a local stealership. You got the name right!
Buy it from sunset in oregon and you'll save gobs and gobs of cash... 1 (800) 346-0182 |
thanks everyone, i'll try cleaning it this weekend while attempting to change the AOS(wish me luck!)
if cleaning it doesn't work i'll certainly purchase it online! those suckers at the stealership must be bleeping crazy! |
i just replaced mine for the 2nd time.
its easy, 2 screws holding it, its as easy as that. take old one out, put new one in just pay attention to the little arrow so that you put it in the right way in, thats all |
Just received my new MAF today (from Pelican), I think the hardest part of the install will be locating one of those torx security bits. :p

I replaced my Boxster maf in the parking lot of Autozone. Took me about 10 minutes IIRC.
