Bumper question

I am not sure, so I thought to ask you here (don't even know if this is the correct thread to post a question).

Does a '04 Boxster S bumper fits a '97?

Thank you

Yes, it does.

The front fits but the S bumper cover has a center opening that the "97 doesn't.

The rear bumper cover also fits but the shape of the rear spoiler "cap" has a different shape where it mates with the bumper cover, so you will also need to update the spoiler cap or live with the larger gap between the two parts. Also the exhaust heat shield needs to be slightly modified or moved or I think you will be able to see it through the "diffuser" at the lower edge of the 03/04 bumper cover.

are 996 front bumpers a direct replacement for ours?

Only the 99 - 01 years are direct replacements, newer than that requires fender and headlight changeout.
