Clear LED 3rd brake light

Who's got it done? Was it easy to do? Got any pics when the brakes light up?

$99 seems pretty steep for this upgrade!

I did it, but the smoke version instead of clear. It matches to the smoked turn signals in front and the later generation rear lenses I have installed. Also it is a Seal Gray color and blends into the car. It was easy to do and the LEDs are quite bright. I'll look for a photo and post. i will need to update the photo to show the new rear lenses.

I have a clear one...easy to install, but you must reverse the leads or the LEDS do not light (must be a Chinese thing). Very bright when lit, but do not have a pic.

wheel size and type

Jmatta, What size and type are your wheels and tires? Are they OEM or knockoffs?
As far as the wiring I got lucky and they plugged in straight away.

I installed the clear one on my Arctic Silver and it helps smooth out the rear. If I had a red car I would have left the stock one in place. I did not have to reverse the wires, it just plugged in. LED lights are bright. I did not have a problem installing so that means this little dancing guy, , could do it. I have no pics but it looks good with the bumperettes painted, Boxster name removed and clear tailights.

Does anyone have the light from this seller? It looks a little different/darker in the middle than the other parts I have seen on eBay, but maybe it is just how it looks in the picture.
It is half the price, which is bound to get my attention.

They all look like that because the LED cluster is in the middle not across the whole section.

Here is one. Not completely night, but there has been no sun today and it has been threatening to rain all day. it will be fully dark in another hour.

Thanks for posting the pic.

I'll wait until mine breaks. Not as clean as I thought when it lights up but looks very nice when it's off.

I know this is the wrong spot to post this but I think I have an extra extra clear 3rd brake light that I never used in the garage. Send me a pm if interested.

I got mine from Maxspeed. No problems and no need to reverse the wiring.

clear third brake light LED vs. Incadescent

I upgraded the 2000 boxter to the clear tops red bottoms rear brake lights, I would like to replace the red lens third brake light above the trunk with a clear one that will match the new rear lights and match the artic silver color of my car. Has anyone done this? and if you went with LED, did you notice a difference in color and /or brightness of the LED lights in the third brake light as compared to the incandescent bulbs in the rear tail light assemblies?
