If you phone suncoast they should be able to help you. I have a similar problem with wheel carriers and they sorted it out

The last two digits in a Porsche part number are the revision. The higher the number, the later the revision. Typically, they will keep the part number the same except for the last two digits if the part is meant to be upgradeable on older models, for example a car that came with XXX-XXX-XXX-01 can use the XXX-XXX-XXX-04 with no problems.
If the part are not interchangeable, they will change numbers other than the last two. The MAF is an example where the XXX-XXX-125-XX is not a drop in replacement for the XXX-XXX-124-XX because and ECU reflash is also required. I'm not 100% sure if this is the case with the AOS and contacting Suncoast is a good idea, but in general, this is the way Porsche PNs work and you probably just want the one with the highest final two digits. |
I was also told that a different revision does not necessarily mean a different part. If Porsche decides to subcontract the exact same part to someone else they still roll the revision (e.g. -01 to -02) even if there was no change to the part design.

oh i agree. I was surprised when suncoast told me that. I work in the Aerospace industry and they don't roll the dash number for a revision unless there is a design change. Aerospace companies switch suppliers all the time with out changing the dash number.
Weird indeed but thats Porsche for ya  |
