Tail Light replacement DIY link?
Walked into my garage with tools and Mr. Bentley - but found the manual doesn't cover rear tail light replacement - just bulbs.
With all the de-amber mods - must be a posted DIY somewhere. |
look inside your trunk,
there are four screws (located at the corners) holding the tail light in place You might have to pull away the carpet a bit pop off the plate which hold the bulbs (covered in maintenance manual - look under replacing bulbs) that's all there is... |
This is really easy. There are a couple plastic trim pieces that hold carpet up on each side. Find them and take them out, then you have complete access to the light hardware.
Took all of about 20 minutes to do both. Trust me, very easy and about the best mod you can do for under 250 bucks besides de-snorkeling!! |
btw - amber side light
I just took off the side amber lights and found the light socket is bad.
I thought is was the bulb - but a new bulb did not fix it. (looks like passenger side was replace and driver is original '01 - and is bad shape.) If you buy the clear - do they provide the light socket - or just the clear lens? |
just the lens :o
