New Member / Caliper Re-Paint

I am a new member and just bought a 2003 Boxster S. I started detailing the car and noticed that the red calipers are faded. There are caliper re-painting kit, but I'm wondering if the Porsche lettering is a decal, please advise

I don't know if the original is a decal but, I'd guess it is. You can purchase replacement Porsche or Brembo decals for $8 from xenonmods.com, a set consists of 6 decals, in case you mess up.

Repaint w/ G2 system of epoxy paint. There are both decals and stecils available for the lettering.

Decals are easier, and probably near as long-lived as stenciling.

I painted mine and decal'd them. 3 years on, they're as new.

you can search for the recent thread on my calipers - I just painted mine. I have a base so my calipers were black - but also somewhat faded. I painted mine black.

the PORSCHE lettering on mine was not a sticker - the factory lettering appeared to be painted on.

I used the G2 paint kit and vinyl decals from xenonmods. The whole thing turned out really nice.

mine are stencils from the factory.
The clear coat starts to fade or fall off. You should probably strip that off then paint over

XenonMods . Com

Be advised everyone, XenonMod seems to be turning out to be a scam. Per the advise I received I ordered the paint kit and decals. XenonMods sent me the decals but not the paint. The will not return any of my e-mails. There are postings on the internet from other individuals having the same complaint. I will pursue getting my money back from this company or pursue legal remedies. I have never been ripped off and will not let it happen.

I don't know why people continue to recommend xenonmods. This is the fifth or six time I have heard about them ripping someone off. The guys there used to be ok, I don't know what happened to them. Good luck getting your money back.

I've ordered from them three times now and always got what I ordered in a timely manner. All separate orders. In fact I just received bulbs from them about 3 weeks ago.

I've never had a single problem.

I'm not sure that xenonmods has an actual retail location and they may drop ship some of the items they sell. Perhaps you'll be receiving your caliper paint in a couple days.

xenonmods are thieves!!

I didn’t receive half my shipment and waited, waited, and waited for the other half. Nothing. I contacted them many times, no reply. So I faught it though Paypal, they then said they would ship after that and Paypal dropped the dispute. They provided me with a shipping tracker, so I waited, waited, and waited.... items never shipped, again.

Thier scam is to send you a tracker, but they never ship it and you just wait and wait and don't reply to your emails.
