Ugh, guys I need help!

I was pulling a bone head move today and drove too fast around a curve and ran the Boxster off the road into the side bushes and trees. Luckily I didn't do any damage, no dents but the tree limbs did mark up the car. They didn't break the paint nor leave a big scratch but they did leave some serious marking on the car. It's hard to describe but I'm confident that they can be polished out. Any tips on what works best to remove marks on a black car? New Finish, Wax, Polishing compound, etc.,

I'll post a picture later tonight.

So I just got her all cleaned up! I washed the car and hand applied polishing compound to the trouble areas followed by Zymol and it removed the marks.

I'm happy again - such a stupid mistake today! I approached a T intersection at 50+ and had it in the turn but then I gave it more gas and the back end broke lose and sent her into the ditch between 2 trees.

The really scary part is that I had my 10 year old in the car with me so that was really scary for him and of course mom heard all about it!!! "if you want to kill yourself go ahead but don't do ti with my kids" of course she was right - really stupid move today.

Please be careful on the road,you put yourself at risk,your passengers and other people who use the road in danger.

Normally I just go to a local lower population section of town,find a spot that looks good to fool around in. It normally end up being a business district. Drive through it to make sure there isn't anything like a bunch of loose rocks or nails in the road. Also make sure there aren't any cars parked around,normally if there aren't cars,there aren't people. Then have at it.

Kicking the back end out is fun when you control it! :cheers:

Just my opinion, the boxster is my second mid engined car, they spin in way that is an experience all to itself as I discovered at 18 in an X/19 in newly falling rain. Pushing the ass out on purpose may end up in a situation you never counted on.

Exactly, I pushed her out and didn't expect that I couldn't bring her around. It's not like the days of my front engine rear drive Camaro where fish tailing was fun and easy to handle.

Yep glad nobody was hurt - It was a really stupid thing. lesson learned.

Glad to hear everyone/everything is okay! In the future you should consider autocrossing to get past the urge to take high speed corners on public roads (even more so it will teach you the limits of your car in a controlled manner instead of some random intersection). We're headed to one a week from today so PM if interested... :D

A free life experience! Enjoy it and learn from it. I have ran two autocrosses and have a third at the end of this month. They are a lot of fun and let you explore the limits of you car. :cheers:

The first time I rode in a Boxster was my cousin's, he completely looped it going around a 90 degree corner (cold tires, cold weather) and we spun a 360 in the grass and ended up coming back out onto the street pointed perfectly where we were going. These cars seem to rotate on a center axis much more so than front engine / rear drive layout cars, being mid-engined I guess they ought to. Glad to hear everything turned out fine for you guys and the car. Only one thing stinks more than getting chastised by the wifey, and that's when you know she's right. :cheers:

My first thought was the recent thread about giving a 16 year old a Boxster for a first car... I guess it goes to show that it can happen to anyone, young or old.

More importantly, glad all turned out well.
