Cleaning orbital buffer pads

Just recently bought an orbital buffer to use on my Boxster, worked really good but I have a question for those that use these regularly. How do you clean your buffer pads? Do you clean them after each use?

TIA

I use a very gentle shampoo and rinse thoroughly after use. If you take care of them, they'll last quite some time.

Be sure to use a different pad for each different compound...you'll never get all the polish or wax out of a pad.

Thanks. I did buy several pads so that I could keep them separated.

I just use dish soap and rinse a LOT - til the water runs out clear. Then let em air dry and keep in ziplocks between use so they don't get contaminated and add that to the paint the next time. I also use a big sharpie to mark the compound on the edge to avoid mixing them up.

Thanks, hadn't thought about the zip lock bags, good idea!
